Picked up!

Hey guys,
We finally had our first airing on Channel 12 last week! It was an exciting experience for all of us and we are happy to finally be officially working with Ken Amaro as his army! However, the work does not stop here! We have a couple more projects coming up for this semester. Because we are pressed for time, we are going to be doing only a couple more pieces. Unfortunately, we are going to have to postpone the Generic vs. Leading brand skit, so that we can fit in a couple others. Right now we are focusing our attention on How to Save Energy. We have a great cast for this skit and we just started shooting last Thursday. Josh and Jesse will be two of our main characters, and Rich will be our anchor as usual! We plan to finish shooting and editing this one within the next couple of weeks. Also, we have started to shoot outtakes for our skits, and they will most likely all be posted online for you all to laugh at and enjoy! Also, we would like to ask everyone to please visit www.firstcoastnews.com to see the videos that have already been posted on carpooling, saving gas and more. Go to firstcoastnews.com and search for Amaro's Army. We will keep you updated on the how to save energy shoot, and as always please let us know if you have any suggestions for a skit that we can do to help consumers like you!
Thank you!

Airing Date & Generic Food vs. Name Brand Food

Hey Guys!
Finally we have met with the crew at Channel 12 News, and they have accepted our ideas and footage. So, we have the date that our "What's in Your Trunk" segment is going to air. MARCH 16th @ 6 o'clock sharp!

Next on the list is Generic Foods vs. Name Brand foods.
If you haven't already noticed in the grocery store, a lot of name brand products are also available in the generic brand labels. If you have noticed that, then maybe you have noticed the price difference. There are a lot of the same products being sold, with the same ingredients, but for almost $2.00 more for the Brand name products (for some products). Many consumers do not realize the major difference in price between generic foods vs. brand foods. You could be saving you're a lot of money.
So, what we have done is gone into the grocery store and bought the same products in brand names and generic names, and then we conducted a taste test. The purpose of this taste test was to find out if random samplers could tell the difference in products.
We are all working hard to figure out more ideas about saving money on generic food vs. name brand foods. With any ideas you may have, again, please don't hesitate to reply.

We are also working on our Amaro's Army image. We are creative college students and so I'm sure we will come up with something original, but what would our audience like to see Amaro's Army be? Let us know.

Thanks guys,
Amaro's Army

Making Progress

Hey!
So after weeks of work and some intense production, we have finally produced and edited several pieces! First, we have filmed ways in which you can save money on gas through carpooling, and we also have completed a "quick tips" skit on ways to tune up your car. Additionally, we have created a hilarious skit starring a character named "Inspector Unleaded," to help bring some humor into saving money on gas. We are in the process of showing all of these to Ken Amaro and his team at First Coast News and we are anxiously awaiting their thoughts!
Although it was stressful at times, we had a great time making these and are looking forward to producing several more. We are looking to focus our next consumer adventure on researching the differences between generic and leading brands of food and ways to save money at the grocery store. We performed a taste test of different generic and leading brands of the same food items in order to see if anyone could tell the difference between them. If there was no difference in taste between the two, we knew that consumers could save a great amount of money by buying the generic brands. Further research, polls, and filming will be conducted on this specific study and we will keep you updated on our findings!
Other upcoming ideas include differences between tap and bottled water, and the money-saving benefits of biking!
For now, we are happy to have completed several awesome pieces!
Thanks!
